COMMON REPAIRS EXPLAINED
We repair all major brands, makes and models
We service all types of ovens including…
Standard or Conventional ovens
Convection ovens
Ovens contain combustible components and gas units emit carbon monoxide. It’s crucial to exercise caution and avoid attempting any repairs yourself if you are not experienced with gas and electrical appliances. Always consult a qualified technician for proper diagnosis and repairs. Here are some common oven issues:
Oven is not heating
There are a few possible causes of why an oven is not heating. (1) The heating element may be burned out or damaged. (2) The oven’s circuit breaker has tripped. (3) The thermostat may be defective and not signaling the oven to heat up. (4) Gas ovens may have problems with the igniter or pilot light, preventing the oven from heating.
Oven has uneven cooking or hot spots
To prevent uneven cooking spots, ensure that the oven racks are positioned correctly. If this doesn’t solve the issue, the heating element may not be distributing heat evenly, or there’s insufficient preheating; allow the oven to preheat adequately before placing food inside.
Oven has temperature inaccuracies
If the oven temperature does not match the set temperature, the thermostat may be malfunctioning. In other cases, the temperature sensor inside the oven may be faulty, resulting in inaccurate temperature readings.
Oven is not switching on
If the oven isn’t turning on, it may have power supply issues. Check if the oven is receiving power by verifying the electrical connection and ensuring the circuit breaker hasn’t tripped. The control panel may also be defective and not responding to input commands.
Oven is emitting strange odors or smoke
Leftover food or spills inside the oven can burn and produce smoke or unpleasant odors. It may also be that the oven’s insulation is damaged or worn out.

We still recommend an in-person inspection of your appliance to get an accurate diagnosis.
How soon can I expect the repair?
We offer same-day and next-day visits. Tell us the date and time of your preferred visit and we will send you a 3-hour window when the technician is due to arrive.
How long do repairs take?
Repairs can take anywhere from an hour to a few hours, depending on whether parts need replacing, how easy or difficult it is to locate faulty parts, and whether the appliance needs dismantling and reassembly.
To help us complete the job faster you may prepare useful documents such as the appliance manual, brand model and serial number, and warranty information. You can also make the appliance easily accessible by clearing the space around it.
